Job Summary
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage our Toolroom and Shipping & Receiving operations. This dual-purpose role is critical to maintaining the flow of production by ensuring all tools, dies, and fixtures are maintained, tracked, and ready for use. Additionally, this position oversees the accurate receipt of incoming materials and the sourcing of necessary consumables to keep our shipyard operating at peak efficiency. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge of marine tools with rigorous organizational skills and a commitment to safety compliance.
It is the responsibility of each individual to provide or arrange his or her own transportation to and from the shipyard.
If duty is being performed during normal operating hours the following PPE will be worn on the yard. Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Ear Plugs, and Safety Toed Shoes. Respirators And Fall Protection is to be worn when working in areas that require additional protection.
Employees are often required to perform other jobs beyond the essential functions of their primary job. These jobs could consist of, but not be limited to, assisting other employees in the cleaning and picking up of debris from other areas where work is performed, partnering with employees to complete work with more stringent deadlines. Job Summary
Skilled tradesmen who performs the work of developing and laying out, fitting, bolting up, assembling and erecting plate, shapes, and pipe when used to form a part of a structural assembly in connection with ship construction, alteration, and repair specified by blueprints, work orders, or instructions from supervisor or management. The shipfitter is responsible for building and/or repairing the complete hull of a metal ship. The fitter has the primary responsibility for maintaining its watertight integrity. The shipfitter also manufactures and installs interior and exterior weldments such as: Bulwarks, Coamings, Doors, Foundations, Gratings, Hawse Pipes, Ladders, Mast, Bulkheads, King Post, Racks, Railing, Sea Chest, Stanchions, Stowages, Tanks, Trunks, Yardarms, and Hull Zincs.
The shipfitter repairs and/or removes damage ship structures and fittings, prepares surfaces for welding, burning, riveting and lays out holes for drilling. This work is accomplished using miscellaneous hand and power tools. The shipfitter may also be required to perform as a roll operator, punch operator, shear operator, track burner, drill and saw operator. The shipfitter may also have to arrange for staging, crane service, ventilation, lighting, and support services (air, electricity, and water).

I: Determines the position of structural components using blueprints or templates. Locates precut and labeled structural members and marks reference lines such as center and frame lines.

Employees are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the shipyard.
When working from heights or around edges, employees must ensure sufficient railings are in place to prevent falls. Rails must surround all deck openings according to OSHA regulations and Patti Marine policies.

The pipefitter is responsible for building and/or repairing the complete piping systems in a metal ship. The pipefitter has the primary responsibility for manufacturing and installing interior and exterior components such as: Foundations, Hawse Pipes, Ladders, Mast, Racks, Railing, Sea Chest, Stanchions, Stowages, Tanks, Trunks, Yardarms, and Pipe spools, associated pumps, valves and other components which form the complete Ships’ systems. The Pipefitter repairs and/or removes damage ship piping systems and prepares surfaces for welding, burning, and lays out holes for drilling. This work is accomplished using miscellaneous hand and power tools. The Pipefitter may also be required to perform as a roll operator, punch operator, shear operator, track burner, drill and saw operator. The Pipefitter may also have to arrange for staging, crane service, ventilation, lighting, and support services (air, electricity, and water). The above description is general in nature. Physical Demands: Primarily involves standing and walking, and carrying on a constant basis while preparing to complete the assigned job. The tacker will have to carry a 50’ welding line, when coiled, can weigh up to 45 pounds. Multiple lines may need to be carried for distances within the working area. The number of times this function is performed in a given day will vary considerably; however, a typical day might involve moving to multiple work areas.
Essential Function: Identify and locate specific components, pipe stock, pumps, etc. to accomplish the assigned daily tasks.
Transportation: It is the responsibility of each individual to provide or arrange his or her own transportation to and from the shipyard.
